Korean Language Course

Training methods

Speaking.

The various tools necessary for learning activities are utilized to encourage active participation by the trainees. Teachers stimulate each trainee's individual experience, elicit natural participation, and help them learn the conversation necessary for daily life easily and quickly through active interaction.

Listening

시Using audiovisual tools, trainees listen to conversations in a variety of situations.
he teacher will obtain background information on the trainees (interests, culture, etc.), anticipate their responses, and improve their listening comprehension through question-and-answer sessions.

Vocabulary and Grammar

Vocabulary and expressions (idioms, proverbs, grammar) used in daily life and in various fields are studied through various media (pictures, cards, evaluation papers).
Vocabulary and expressions are used and mastered through a variety of activities.

Reading

At the beginner level, students learn Korean in a fun way through various media (pictures, cards, and games).
From the intermediate level, students will deepen their understanding of the Korean language and culture through a variety of reading materials.

Writing

At the beginner level, pronunciation and writing are combined and taught in order for trainees to know and write 'Hangul' correctly.
At the intermediate and advanced levels, teachers respect the trainees' thought processes and provide them with appropriate information to help them write honest and realistic texts.

Special Activities

Special activities provide trainees with opportunities to experience Korean culture and apply what they have learned in the classroom to real-life situations, thereby enhancing their Korean language learning efficiency.
Special and academic activities are subject to change according to departmental management.

  • Learn Hangul alphabet, pronunciation, and spelling of Hangul.
  • Learn basic vocabulary and basic grammar (basic investigation and endings, basic sentence structure, tenses, etc.).
  • Learn necessary functions in personal and informal themes and situations such as family, daily routines, hobbies, etc.
Beginner2
  • Study grammatical elements such as various particles, endings, and subject verbs, as well as idiomatic expressions and proverbs.
  • Students will learn everyday vocabulary and abstract vocabulary related to daily life.
  • Learn functions necessary for situations such as asking for a favor, asking for advice, giving advice, and making suggestions.
  • Study Korean culture such as legends, myths, and holidays.
Intermediate1
  • Students will learn content related to the actual situation in Korea (politics, economy, society, etc.).
  • Students will learn the Korean language knowledge necessary to view professional affairs.
  • Learn to use appropriate forms of expression in various speech situations.
Intermediate2
  • Learn to converse naturally with Koreans on general topics.
  • Understand Korea through a wide range of cultural experiences and topics such as culture, sports, entertainment, and performances.
  • Understand how Koreans think through study of idiomatic expressions, proverbs, and kanji structures.
  • To get a sense of the currents of modern Korea through field trips and real-life materials (dramas, movies).
Advanced1
  • Understand various changes in vocabulary and speech styles, and be able to formulate new sentences naturally.
  • Experience Korean traditions and gain insight into their social significance.
  • Understand news and newspapers, and develop thinking skills through surveys and public opinion polls.
  • Understand how to prepare reports for classes at Korean universities and graduate schools.
Advanced2
  • Improve pronunciation and vocabulary through various cultural discussions.
  • Learn discussion and debate skills through seminar-style classes.

Assessment

  • Grades are assessed by midterm exams, final exams, and assignments.
